I’ve always wanted a Kenzo jumper.
So i’m not really a flashy person much at all, and even the smallest of designer purchases – aka this jumper – makes me feel guilty for weeks! However, i’ve wanted a Kenzo jumper for so long that I felt it was the ideal pre-Fashion Week treat to adorn myself with along the Soho streets for this season. I wore it on the Monday, and styled it with these culottes and chunky boots.
I absolutely adore everything about the jumper, although I will say, if you want it baggy, size up! I wanted mine to be a real loose fit, and the size i’m wearing is actually an XL! Crazy? Silly high fashion world. For me I love things oversized and slouchy, so the XL was perfect, but I think if you went for your normal size you’ll find it quite a snug fit as opposed to a slouchy jumper.
I pinned my hair up to complete the look.
I shot a tutorial a while back on my YouTube channel where I showed how to do easy hairstyles with no heat. I was getting so tired by Monday – when these images were shot – so I used one of the techniques from the video, which is to part the hair and tie into a knot before pinning in a messy bun. You can watch how to do it here. It’s so easy to do and I think it really pulled the look together. It only takes a handful of pins and about 5 mins, so it’s perfect for those lazy hair days or also if you’re in a rush!
I feel like this is an easy smart look.
I’m not always the best at dressing smart, so I always try to use Fashion Week as a good way of practising pulling smarter looks together. I love culottes for a smart comfy look, as they draw together an outfit straight to a more refined vertical, and I thought i’d try out these cream ones. Mine are actually from Forever 21, but i’ve found a link above to some really similar ones on Boohoo for only £20. I think these are a great office staple, and I have them in cream and black, too! Okay, so mine needed a bit of an iron, but you can excuse that I was in a hotel away from home and in a bit of a rush during Fashion Week!
I really enjoyed Monday at Fashion Week.
I went to some amazing shows, and I also had George on hand in town to shoot these photos as it was his day off. He’s getting so good at taking pictures for me now and I feel the most comfortable with him behind the lens. Again these were shot on our new Canon 5d mkiii and i’m just obsessed with it. We found a little side street just off Dean St in Soho, and I immediately adored the old London vibe of the burned brick colours and the cobbled road.
I’d love to know what you think of my new Kenzo jumper – i’m going to be wearing it a lot considering how much it cost me! Guilt aside, I absolutely adore it and it’s going to be a good staple winter piece, as all the colours in it bring that lovely pop of pink/blue without being too overpowering. I feel like I can wear it with jeans, culottes, a skirt… anything really!
Let me know what you think of this outfit!
