The Last Min Stylish Staple NYE Dress for £26

I’m in love with the effortlessly classy vibe of this dress, that’s now reduced down to £26!

Whenever I buy a statement party dress – a new year’s eve, a Christmas, a birthday or a wedding for example – I’m always thinking about alternate uses for it. Let’s face it, you don’t want to scrimp on what you’re spending so you feel nice, but you really don’t want to waste money on a one wear item. When I didn’t have much money, I had one smart dress that I wore for everything, and I kept that mentality growing up – it’s good to have some serious staple items that will never go out of fashion. You’ll have seen me repeat wear a load of staple dresses, and I believe this is one of them.

The soft satin material makes it feel really delicate and pretty to wear, while the maxi length keeps it good for Winter evenings. I love the rich burgundy tone, again a shade that will never go out of style, and with it’s easy to wear off shoulder strap detailing, I truly believe this is a staple dress that will suit everyone. I bought it for £65 from ASOS, and the reason why I’ve sat on these photos is because I just had a feeling it would go down in the sales, and it has – it’s now just £26. Shook. Luckily for you, the cut off of ASOS premier delivery is tomorrow night – Dec 29th at 23.59 – and it will still arrive in time for NYE. Perfect.

Kaye and I wanted to shoot in an ‘ugly’ location – well, not ugly in my eyes, the epic Slim Jim’s bar in Angel – and attempt a slightly different style of photo for this shoot, a stark flash look that really made the satin glow even more than it looked in person. I have spent previous New Years Eve’s in Camden DJing, and it was a nice nod to the past I had here, whilst glammed up in a brand new dress. I live a different live now, from DJing late nights for bad money in dive bars and struggling to make ends meet and it felt symbolic to me to show how far I’ve come from that – heading into 2018 with the strongest my channel and blog has ever been, as well as gearing up to marry my husband to be, after moving into our first ever bought home.

Even though it wasn’t NYE when we shot these, it had a new year feel to it with the symbolism I felt we personified. I felt ready to turn over a new leaf, to head into a new year. Let’s not beat around the bush here, I’m 29 next year and I’ve grown up so so much since I used to run to toilets like this with dirty floors and graffited walls, with no toilet seat and definitely no toilet roll in the three minutes I had to pee before I could change the next song on the deck. I don’t regret anything, but I’m proud of how far I’ve come. When I step into any dive bar now, it still feels like home – even if it’s on the other side of the world.
